
Annual Vines
There can be many reasons to plant an annual vine. They can provide quick vertical cover in one year and will flower from summer to fall. They are great for trellising from window boxes or pots. Annual vines are often have unique colorful flowers and can be grown through hedges or other vines for added color
Plant care & info
Most annual vines are heat lovers and should be planted well after the danger of frost in late April or May. Sweet Peas are the exception, planted from seed in February!
For a good flower show most annual vines need at least six hours of sun a day. However, Morning Glories, Sweet Peas, Canary Bird Vine, and Runner Beans will grow in shade with little to no flowers, but provide screening foliage.
Use a starter fertilizer at planting time such as EB Stone Sure Start combined with a time release fertilizer such as Osmocote. This mix will keep you annual vines looking great all season!
